All currency exchanges in Tajikistan will be shut down by the government in a bid to save the national currency from collapse.

As reported by EurasiaNet, a government decree will be published in the coming days in order to allow only authorised banks to effect currency exchanges, which will also be limited in amount.

Buying and selling foreign denomination, which is typically dollars in Tajikistan, outside the authorised points will incur criminal prosecution for all parties involved.
